Monitoring of freezing time at Hemobrás

Hemobrás, a state-owned company linked to the Ministry of Health, has just implemented a system for monitoring the freezing time of fresh plasma in 30 Brazilian Blood Centers, based on our 2ctemp-USB-HE model.

Designed to automatically count Time and Temperature, the system designed and installed by MaxiTrack inaugurates a new phase in the Quality Control of human plasma collected in Hemonuclei across the country.

Freezing of fresh plasma must be performed within a specified time after collection, so that Factor VIII levels are preserved. In this way, the final medicine will be of good quality, enabling people with hemophilia across the country to receive efficient treatment.

Equipped with a probe to capture the temperature of the surface of the plasma bag, the model 2ctemp-USB-HE represents cutting-edge technology and unique know-how developed by the company MaxiTrack-Marathon. In addition to 8k memory, this Data Logger has high accuracy, with an accuracy of approximately 0.1⁰C in the range of -30⁰C.

“One of our main concerns is the preservation of Factor VIII, a protein present in the plasma, used in the treatment of people with type A hemophilia, which can degrade if the plasma is frozen and stored at inappropriate temperatures”, emphasizes Dr Adriana Parodi / Ger of Quality Control of Hemobrás.

The use of the Data Logger 2ctemp-USB-HE will guarantee the conservation of all the components of the collected plasma until the moment of going to the industry and being transformed into medicines for the treatment of serious diseases such as hemophilia, cancer, AIDS and patients with severe burns .
